Late Medieval Short Gown for Men with Matching Chaperon
Late Medieval Short Gown for Men with Matching Chaperon
Share
This knee-length late medieval gown is known as houppelande or Schecke. It is cut like a very wide short coat and closes with buttons down the front. You adjust it with a belt for the proper look. To top it off, you wear a fashionable chaperon.
The houppelande and chaperon were worn by nobility at court gatherings. The outfit is both regal and practical as you don't have to deal with floor-length fabric. Just pair it with a shirt and some narrow trousers and you will have a very elegant look.
The houppelande with matching chaperon is a great choice for your medieval-themed wedding.
Key features:
- knee-length garment
- very wide at the seam, comes with a matching belt to control the fabric
- standing collar
- wide sleeves, half-arm (to about elbow)
- matching hat (chaperon) included
You can customize your garment with your choice of fabric, color, and trim.
FABRIC
You can choose from a range of fabrics for your garment. Please pick your outer fabric from the first menu and the lining for main body and sleeves from the second. The Chaperon will use the same fabrics and trim.
The red and gold gown is velvet with a silk lining for the body and silk brocade for the sleeves. The black and silver is wool with linen lining and sleeves in silk. The last one is dark green velvet with linen lining and silk brocade for the sleeves.
